'The Life and Death of Colonel Blimp' is a classic feature by legendary British filmmakers Michael Powell and Emeric Pressburger. Renowned for its striking Technicolor, and made during the height of the Second World War, it was controversial for its sympathetic German characters and its satire of the British army. The story mixes war story with romantic drama, telling in flashback the life of a Home Guard commander (Roger Livesey) who fought in two previous wars, including his love for Edith (Deborah Kerr) and the trials he faces as both a younger and older man. Running time is 163 minutes.
