Dr Wallach is the Director of the Office of Postdoctoral Affairs (OPdA) at the University of Cambridge

 

Dr Katie Wheat

Dr Wheat is a Higher Education Senior Manager at Vitae, promoting world class researcher development to realise the potential of researchers in the UK and internationally. Before joining Vitae, she was a postdoctoral researcher in cognitive neuroscience at Maastricht University. As a postdoc, Katie became interested in the training needs and career progression of researchers; in particular, equality and diversity, and the transition to careers outside of academia. As a result, Katie co-founded the #ECRchat Twitter chat and online community, where she worked with early career researchers around the globe to provide a peer-mentoring and networking platform to discuss post-PhD career issues. 

 

Dr Miguel Jorge

Dr Jorge is currently a Lecturer at the University of Strathclyde. He has been an advocate for research careers for over 10 years, and is a founding member and former president of Portugal’s National Association of Science and Technology Researchers. He has also served as Director of the International Consortium of Research Staff Associations (ICoRSA), as a member of the core group of the Voice of the Researchers (VoR), and as an advisor for the Science With and For Society (SWAFS) Expert Group of the European Commission. He is one of the co-authors of the Bratislava Declaration of Young Researchers. 

 

Dr Louise Stephen

Dr Stephen is a postdoc at the Cancer Research UK Beatson Institute and she is currently co-chair of the UK Research Staff Association (UKRSA) having previously chaired and worked with a number of RSAs. Louise also represents postdocs on many committees aimed at furthering researcher development and giving postdocs a greater voice. Louise is interested in improving the researcher experience to make academia a more inclusive and realistic career option.
