Postdocs of Cambridge Society

PdOC After Work: Pensions

REGISTRATION FOR THIS EVENT IS NOW CLOSED

What is the University Superannuation Scheme (USS)?

What happens with the money you and the university pay in every month?

How will your pension be calculated when you retire?

What are your pension options if you want to leave academia? Or if you want to leave the United Kingdom?

Sometimes it can seem like no one pension scheme is like another. If you want to understand your pension better, please come along to this PdOC After Work on Pensions and get an introduction to the USS Pensions Scheme and an opportunity to ask questions to our expert speakers.

Please note: This event is primarily aimed at postdocs who are members of the USS.

Featured speakers:

Sue Curryer, Head of the University Pensions Administration Office

Richard Farndale, University and Colleges Union (UCU) Pensions Representative

On the registration form there is a possibility to submit questions to the speakers in advance. Please see last year’s FAQ here: http://www.pdoc.cam.ac.uk/guides/PdOCUSSPensions

There will be lighter food and drink, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, served. No need to pay in advance, just bring £1 on the day. All registered participants will be emailed with more information closer to the date.

N.B. This event is for PdOC members only.
