PdOC Christmas Dinner 2019

The PdOC Society is pleased to invite Cambridge postdocs, and their guests, to its annual Christmas dinner.This year we will be dining at Peterhouse on Monday 16th December. Come along to meet postdocs from a wide range of academic disciplines.

Guests are invited to attend from 19:00 in the Combination Room followed by a three-course dinner in the Dining Hall.

 

Menu:

An appropriate option per course, to each guest, will be provided based on dietary requirements. Meals cannot be mixed between each menu listed below - For example, if you state that you are vegetarian you will be given the options on the vegetarian menu only and vice versa. 

Trio of salmon - Hot-smoked pâté, gin home-cured, lemon poached, tonic gel, lime syrup, pickled cucumber, freshly baked pumpkin seed breadCranberry and clementine glazed duck breast - Leg confit, fig and hazelnut stuffing, roast potatoes, Brussels with pancetta and truffle, Cumberland sauce, heritage carrot, kohlrabi and swede

Spiced crème brûleé Christmas pudding Florentine 

Vegetarian Menu:

Parsnip and apple soup - Potato and scallion scone, parsnip crisp, pumpkin seed oil, freshly baked pumpkin seed bread

Clementine glazed squash strudel - Cannellini bean, fig, spinach stuffing, roast potatoes, Brussels with smoked cashews and truffle, Cumberland sauce, heritage carrot, kohlrabi and swede

Bûchede Noël - Dark chocolate and chestnut mousse, white chocolate sauce

Followed by coffee, mince pies and chocolates

 

Each dinner ticket will cost £43per person, an additional drinks ticket can be purchased for £10 (2 glasses of wine and one mulled wine at the drinks reception) or £5 (three glasses of soft grape drink). Please note the bar is not open to purchase other drinks and drinks cannot be bought in from outside the premises. 

 

Dress code for the evening is smart dress, which means a jacket and tie or equivalent. Gowns are not required.

Please remember £5 deposits are non-refundable. A £5 non-refundable deposit has been incorporated in the full dinner ticket price of £43. If you are unsure whether you had previously paid a deposit, please contact hg379@cam.ac.uk, subject 'PdOC Christmas Dinner'.
