Postdocs of Cambridge Society

The next expedition in the PdOC Society's legendary series of hiking trips will be to Snowdon

We will be staying at YHA Snowdon Pen-y-Pass situated at the foot of the magnificent Mount Snowdon, over 1,000ft above sea level. This much loved and famed location is now a state of the art accommodation base in the heart of Snowdonia. The hostel pays tribute to its famous past and information about the surrounding mountains can be seen throughout the building.

We will travel across from Queens Road, Cambridge on the Friday at 15:00 and return by early evening on the Monday (time of departure TBC) in a privately hired coach just for the hiking group. Dinner on Friday can be purchased on route during a 45min driving break. Once you have been dropped off at the hostel, the coach will leave and return to collect you on Monday for the journey back to Cambridge, so please plan accordingly.

For more information on the nine tracks that are accessible from the hostel go here

The cost for 3 nights accommodation with breakfast and return coach travel is £190 per person. The hostel has several facilities including a restaurant so dinners can also be purchased there.

No prior hiking experience is necessary, but please indicate your level of experience on the google form so that we can plan our walks accordingly. You will need worn-in hiking boots, so if this will be your first walking trip then please think about this now. Blisters are no fun! Register by 19th July.
