'The role of early-career researchers in changing the culture of scholarly communication' talk by Dr. Avasthi and presentations from Katherine Brown and Mate Palfy.

PdOC, eLife and Life Sciences Masterclass invite you to attend a talk by Dr. Avasthi on 'The role of early-career researchers in changing the culture of scholarly communication', as well as presentations from Katherine Brown and Mate Palfy, followed by discussions and Q&A.

Dr. Prachee Avasthi from the Hemenway Life Sciences Innovation Center at the University of Kansas (www.avasthilab.org) will be speaking on “The role of early-career researchers in changing the culture of scholarly communication”. Dr. Avasthi has a long history of promoting and engaging with journal preprints (see https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/29889024) and in discussion with Cambridge researchers interested in the same issues this will be a lively evening’s debate on how postdocs can help change the problems in the publishing system and how it support scientific advance.

Katherine Brown and Mate Palfy will be providing a short presentation. They are running preLights, which is part of the journal Development (Company of Biologists).
