After the great success of its first edition, the PdOC Society is delighted to announce the upcoming 2022 Research Showcase, to be held on the 28th October 2022, with an engaging schedule of invited keynotes and featured postdocs.

Research Showcase Formal Dinner - Saturday 29th October 2022, Murray Edwards College

 

This great event is a unique opportunity to showcase your work and learn about Cambridge’s exciting and diverse postdoctoral research contributing to the University's excellence!

The programme of the all-day event will involve keynote talks by invited speakers and presentations by selected postdocs during semi-hybrid sessions, so don’t miss the opportunity to share your work and join us for a formal dinner to acknowledge and celebrate the significant contributions of your fellow postdocs! 

Presentations will be selected for prizes and the winners will be announced at the end of the day.

As in the previous year, a networking formal dinner will follow the research showcase on 29th October 2022 at Murray Edwards College. Join us to share your thoughts and continue the discussion during this formal occasion! Registrations are open now.


Abstracts submission

•    Registrations are now open! Click here to submit your abstract!
•    Abstracts should be no longer than 250 words and should ALL be accessible to a general and non-specialist audience, thus please avoid technical terms not necessary to understand the essence of your research. Images are welcome.
•    Submission deadline: 17th October 2022.

Keynote speakers

Professor Henning Grosse Ruse-Khan is a lecturer in International and European Intellectual Property Law at the Faculty of Law of the University of Cambridge. Research and teaching focuses are on international intellectual property protection and development issues, world trade and investment law, as well as on interfaces amongst legal orders in international law, including transnational law set by private actors. 

Dr Annelies Mortier is currently an Assistant Professor at the University of Birmingham. As part of the HARPS-N and HARPS3 Science team, she works on several projects related to detection and characterisation of exoplanets and their host stars, determining stellar parameters and chemical abundances, battling and understanding stellar activity, characterising planets via radial velocities, and studying the Sun-as-a-star.

Formal dinner

The formal dinner will follow the research showcase on 29th October 2022 at Murray Edwards College 
Tickets cost £49.50 for 3 courses and three glasses of non-alcoholic punch, or £53.50 for 3 courses and 2 glasses of wine. 

Set menu, with adjustments for allergies and other requirements, are:

  • Chicken Liver Parfait, Caramelised Red Onion, Toasted Brioche, or for vegetarians and vegans Roasted Chick Pea, Sweet Potato and Kale Salad (VG).
  • Follwed by Honey Roast Duck Breast, Fondant Potato, Celeriac Puree, Cranberry Jus, or for vegetarians and vegans  Roast Cauliflower Steak, Rosti Potato, Vegan Cheese Sauce, Sautéed Greens (VG).
  • Dessert for all is Warm Chocolate Fondant Tart, Raspberry Coulis with adjustments or altertnative for vegans.
  • Please note if you let us know you need vegan or vegetarian, all three courses will be this way. 

Important: Dinner registration is now closed. Do not pay for the dinner if you have not yet signed up!
