“Exploring chemical modifications and structures in DNA. A bioinformatics perspective.” with Dr Sergio Martinez Cuesta
DNA is much more than the ACGT sequences we see in biochemistry textbooks and recent genetics literature. Sergio will give a broad overview of the experimental and computational technologies used to map and understand chemical modifications and structures in DNA. Using three recent projects from his own research, he will also define the state of the art in the areas of DNA epigenetics from a computational perspective.
About the speaker:
Dr Sergio Martinez Cuesta is a research associate in bioinformatics at the University ofCambridge. He develops projects in collaboration with talented experimental biologists and chemists and shares his time between the CRUK-CI at the biomedical campus and the Department of Chemistry in town.
