** Thank you to all the participants, speakers and guests who helped make the inaugural National Postdoc Meeting a success! **

The report on the outcomes and recommendations from the National Postdoc Meeting 2017 is available here

Welcome to the National Postdoc Meeting hosted by the Postdocs of Cambridge (PdOC) Society and the University of Cambridge. The meeting aims to bring together representatives from research staff associations (RSAs) from around the UK and all interested postdocs.

The meeting will give postdocs from all different disciplines and research institutions in the UK a chance to meet and network with each other and with invited guests and speakers from the academic and research policy world. Additionally the meeting will fall during what is known in the US as the Postdoc Appreciation Week which will be celebrated!

The primary purpose of the meeting is to discuss how UK universities live up to the Concordat to Support the Career Development of Researchers and the Bratislava Declaration of Young Researchers and input into the on-going review of the Concordat.

The meeting will be one full day from lunch on Tuesday 19th September to lunch on Wednesday 20th September, will include workshops and talks from invited speakers, and will be directly followed by a panel discussion of representatives from research funders and policy institutions. In the evening of 19th September there will be a formal dinner for all participants at Peterhouse, the oldest of the Cambridge Colleges.

The National Postdoc Meeting will be the inaugural event to be held in the Postdoc Centre at Eddington in North West Cambridge. This is the third space dedicated to postdocs in Cambridge and the first to be built especially for that purpose.
